"Kamome, the first historical Express Train ever destined for Kyushu on the Sanyo Mainline made its debut in 1953 as the 3rd express train in postwar era following "Tsubame" and "Hato". In and after 1956, it was consisted of Series 10 passenger cars. On electrified zone, Brown Electric Locomotive EF58 pulled it and on un-electrified zone, Diesel Locomotive D52 tracted it. Until it retired in 1961, it had been used between Kyoto and Hakata on the Sanyo Mainline.
